No issue — reported directly: six Dependabot PRs (patch bumps included) sat unmerged despite the existing auto-merge cron.

Context and Purposes

The daily cron with AnandChowdhary/dependabot-pr-action@master never merged anything. It is replaced by dependabot/fetch-metadata (SHA-pinned), which squash-merges every non-major Dependabot PR when it opens or gets rebased. Major bumps stay for manual review.

Renovate is disabled here. Dependabot security updates already cover the same alerts, so each vulnerability produced two PRs.

Challenges and Solutions

There is no required check on main, and adding one would block direct web edits and the Format auto-commit. So the workflow merges directly instead of enabling GitHub auto-merge. The only PR check today is Typos check, which says nothing about dependency bumps.

Expected Feedback

  • Security concerns

Update of documentation

  • I updated corresponding documentation
  • No documentation updates are needed

The cron job using AnandChowdhary/dependabot-pr-action@master never merged
anything, so patch bumps piled up. Replace it with dependabot/fetch-metadata
and merge every non-major Dependabot PR as soon as it opens or is rebased.

Disable Renovate here: Dependabot security updates already cover the same
vulnerabilities, so every alert produced two PRs.
