Problem and fix

The host announced its one-time launch URL before the initial endpoint save completed. A client opening that URL immediately could race a second save against the same temporary file, returning HTTP 500 without cookies. The following protected API returned an empty HTTP 403, which surfaced as an intermittent JSON parse error in two integration tests.

Persist the initial endpoint before announcing readiness. A regression test forces overlapping startup/launch writes and fails with HTTP 500 before the fix; it passes with authenticated JSON responses after the fix.

Upgrade CI and Release to Node.js 24.22.2 and upstream actions that declare the Node 24 runtime: checkout 7.0.1, setup-node 7.1.0, pnpm/action-setup 6.1.0 and upload-artifact 7.0.2. Pin Ubuntu 24.04 to avoid runner migration notices, and update build documentation. Keep the installed host's Node.js 22.19 minimum.

Validation

  • Regression reproduced before the fix: /launch returned 500 instead of 200.
  • All 27 host integration tests passed after the fix.
  • pnpm release:audit: 428 passed, 2 optional skipped; all builds, Safari WebKit validation, reproducible archives and isolated package/shell verification passed.
  • git diff --check passed.

The existing ext-v0.4.2 tag and submitted store packages stay unchanged. Terminal-host npm publication is separate.
