📝 Walkthrough

The cron workflow updates the iOS configurations used by its E2E, LLC, CommonUI, and AI debug matrices. A new workflow searches for matching runs and attempts to cancel them when a pull request closes.

Changes: Cron debug matrices

Layer / File(s) Summary
Update debug matrix selections
.github/workflows/cron-checks.yml
The E2E matrix retains iOS 26.2 and 17.5. The LLC matrix retains iOS 26.2 and 16.4. The CommonUI and AI matrices use iOS 26.2 and 16.4, and set XCODE_VERSION to 26.2.

Closed pull request run cancellation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Cancel matching workflow runs
.github/workflows/cancel-pr-checks.yml
When a pull request closes, the workflow searches runs in five statuses by head branch, filters results by head repository, and attempts to cancel matching runs. A lookup failure fails the job; a cancellation failure emits a warning.

Closing a PR can also cancel an in-flight check for another PR that reuses the same source branch in the same repository. This is a bounded CI disruption with reruns available, so the PR is mergeable with awareness.

⚠️ Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

Scope actions: write to the job and set a restrictive top-level default.

The workflow grants actions: write at the top level. Set permissions: {} at the top level. Then grant actions: write on the cancel job only. This follows least privilege.

The gh run list command also needs read access to the repository. A job-level block that sets only actions: write removes the other scopes. Add contents: read if the command fails.

@coderabbitai on moving actions: write to the job: the workflow has a single job, and declaring any permission at the top level already sets the rest to none, so this would change nothing. GET actions/runs only needs actions: read, which write includes. Leaving it as is.

@testableapple You're right. With one job, moving actions: write to the job does not reduce its permissions. Explicit permissions set all unspecified permissions to none, and actions: write includes the read access needed to list runs.

Thanks for the clarification. I withdraw the suggestion; no change is needed.

Learning: In `.github/workflows/cancel-pr-checks.yml`, the workflow has one job and declares `actions: write` at the workflow level. Unspecified permissions are set to `none`, and `actions: write` includes the read access needed to list workflow runs. Moving the same permission to the sole job does not reduce its effective permissions and is unnecessary.
