@nim65s -- should we consider having a forked repository that doesn't need to be compliant with ROS? Or does this need to be removed independently to be compliant with IP rules? |
|
licenses are a legal obligation. the fact that ros noticed we are not good on this aspect is orthogonal to the fact that we must comply with european laws |
Got it. If I understand the situation, we could not be allowed to distribute this code. However, the type of licenses is not clear. Is my understanding correct? |
|
exactly, we are not allowed to have any file in this repository, unless:
By default, everything is proprietary and forbidden, even if it is easy to access on the internet (obligatory: "I Am Not A Lawyer") |

@CarlosSuarezZapico -- please reach out to Reach Robotics. We need an answer soon; otherwise, we'll need to remove this package. Thanks! |
This reverts commit 6d34c99 for license issues
Hi,
I thought I already did a pass to check all licenses in this repo, but as mentioned in ros/rosdistro#53263, that was not the case.
For some packages I could find nothing, which is concerning, so I'll dig further.
But for bravo, I found that it is proprietary: https://github.com/Reach-Robotics/reach_robotics_sdk/blob/master/ROS2/reach_bravo_description/package.xml#L8
@CarlosSuarezZapico : do you have any other information about this issue ? Otherwise we will have to remove that from the repo.
