Release builds use the GUI subsystem, so no console opens behind the app, and helper processes (FFmpeg, ffprobe, the AAF module) start with CREATE_NO_WINDOW instead of flashing one each time. align.exe now embeds the app icon and version details from Cargo.toml.
A vX.Y.Z tag now builds the macOS DMG, the Windows installer with its animated splash and update feed, and Fedora and Arch packages with the dark GTK installer, checks that the Linux packages install and run in clean containers, and publishes them with the source archives. A manual run builds the same installers without publishing. The packaging scripts and installer artwork used for 0.1.0 are now in the repository. Bump the version to 0.2.0.
Release builds check GitHub at launch and show an update card; the About panel is only reachable from the macOS menu. Windows Setup installs keep updating through Velopack. The macOS app downloads the DMG and replaces its bundle, and the Fedora and Arch packages download the package and install it with pkexec dnf/pacman. Every download is verified against its .sha256 asset. Other copies get the release page.
The make targets carry the .exe suffix under MSYS2.
