What changed

Added one new news article announcing the upcoming hands-on Galaxy training workshop in Bergen, based on the attached press note.

New folder: src/content/news/2026/hands-on-galaxy-training-workshop-in-bergen/

  • index.mdx: article with title, date (Oct 21, 2026, today), summary, cover and tags [training-events, infrastructure] (both tags are already in use across existing training announcements)
  • cover.webp: the attached workshop-cover.jpg, processed to 1200px WebP and referenced as ./cover.webp

Article content

The article covers the details from the press note: hands-on Galaxy workshop at the University of Bergen, Thursday 12 November 2026, 09:00 to 16:00, Stort auditorium at Høyteknologisenteret; participants learn to run analyses and build reusable workflows on usegalaxy.no; no programming experience needed; lunch provided; registration closes 1 November 2026; contact training@elixir.no.

Assumptions

  1. Registration link omitted. The press note lists the registration URL as https://elixir.no/events/galaxy-bergen-2026 (placeholder). Since it is explicitly a placeholder and no such event page exists in the repository, I did not publish a broken link. Instead the article asks readers to register by contacting training@elixir.no, the contact address given in the press note. If a real registration link exists, it can be added later.
  2. Venue spelling. The press note writes "Hoyteknologisenteret" (likely a DOCX encoding artifact). I used the standard Norwegian spelling "Høyteknologisenteret", the name of the building at the University of Bergen.
  3. Publication date set to today, Oct 21, 2026, as the article is a new announcement.
  4. Internal link to the existing Galaxy service page (/services/galaxy) added for context, matching how other articles link to related services.
  5. No duplicate found: searched news for "Galaxy workshop Bergen" and "usegalaxy"; the closest existing items are 2018/2022 course announcements for different events.

Validation

astro check passed with 0 errors. The warnings it reports are pre-existing in components and unrelated to this change.

Mention English workshop language in Galaxy workshop article (commit 35ea4c0)

What changed

Applied the requester's follow-up correction to the Galaxy workshop article at src/content/news/2026/hands-on-galaxy-training-workshop-in-bergen/index.mdx.

The short practical-details paragraph (added in the previous round) now also states that the workshop language is English. It reads:

The workshop is free of charge and will be held in English. Participants should bring their own laptop.

No other text, frontmatter or files were changed.

Assumptions

  1. The language note belongs in the same short paragraph as the other practical details (free of charge, bring your own laptop), keeping the paragraph brief as originally requested.
  2. Phrased as "will be held in English" since the workshop is in the future (12 November 2026).

Validation

astro check passed with 0 errors. The hints it reports are pre-existing in components and unrelated to this change.

Corrections given during the run

  • Also mention that the workshop language is English.
