v10.2.1

Fixes

fix: support soft hyphens in the word splitter (#9144)

This pull request introduces several improvements and fixes to the word segmentation and word splitting logic, especially for Thai language support and symbol handling. The main changes include updating the Thai segmentation to use soft hyphens, enhancing the word splitting logic to handle more cases (including camelCase, symbols, and soft hyphens), and refactoring the code for better modularity and test coverage.

Word segmentation and Thai language improvements:

  • Updated Thai (th-TH) segmentation to use soft hyphens (\u00AD) instead of spaces, improving the accuracy of word breaks and ensuring better compatibility with spell checking and downstream processing. [1] [2] [3]
  • Added the @cspell/dict-th-th package to dependencies, enabling Thai dictionary support.
  • Adjusted tests and expectations for Thai segmentation to reflect the use of soft hyphens and to ensure no false positives in validation.

Word splitting and symbol handling enhancements:

  • Introduced a new generateWordBreaks utility that generates all possible word breaks in a string, including camelCase, symbols, numbers, and soft hyphens. Includes comprehensive tests and snapshot coverage for various edge cases. [1] [2] [3] [4]
  • Improved regular expressions for word splitting to support soft hyphens and better handle punctuation and symbols.

Refactoring and code organization:

  • Refactored imports to use the new wordSplitter/index.js entry point, improving modularity and future maintainability. [1] [2]
  • Added explicit exports for split, SplitOptions, and SplitResult in wordSplitter/index.ts to clarify and centralize the public API.

Other enhancements:

  • Exposed the softHyphen constant for consistent use throughout the codebase. [1] [2]

Updates @anthropic-ai/claude-agent-sdk from 0.3.251 to 0.3.260

Release notes

Sourced from @anthropic-ai/claude-agent-sdk's releases.

v0.3.260

What's changed

  • Added optional user_message_uuid to thinking_tokens system messages, linking thinking progress to the user message that triggered the turn
  • Added optional first_content_frame_ms, first_stream_post_ms, first_stream_post_ack_ms and first_stream_post_wall_ms fields to the success result message for remote-session latency breakdowns
  • Fixed managedSettings disableAutoMode: "disable" (either spelling) being dropped by the restrictive-only filter instead of turning auto mode off for the spawned session
  • Fixed rewindFiles() reporting success when no files could be restored (for example when checkpoint backups are missing); it now fails
  • Changed error_max_structured_output_retries results to append the last StructuredOutput tool error; validation errors now name the offending key, allowed values, and actual length or count
  • Changed rate_limit_event to also re-emit during an exceeded window on repeat 429s (about once per 30 seconds per limit window), so stream consumers can refresh stale rate-limit state
  • Updated to parity with Claude Code v2.1.260

v0.3.259

What's changed

  • Added user_message_uuids beside user_message_uuid on a turn's first reply frame and result: every user message the turn answered, so a reply to several merged messages can be matched to each
  • Added permissionPrompts: 'none' option to auto-deny permission prompts in sessions with nobody to answer them, without disabling auto mode's classifier
  • Updated to parity with Claude Code v2.1.259

0.3.257

  • Added thinkingTokens to ModelUsage (a subset of outputTokens), and fixed result-message usage.output_tokens_details.thinking_tokens reporting 0 instead of the session's real count
  • Added tool_use_result.resourceLinks on user messages carrying MCP tool results: the resource_link blocks the tool returned, so hosts can render returned files without parsing the result text
  • Added optional resource_links to task_notification for an auto-backgrounded MCP tool call that completed, listing the files it returned by reference; join to the call via tool_use_id
  • Fixed mcp_reconnect and mcp_toggle acting on a same-named .mcp.json / ~/.claude.json server instead of the --mcp-config or mcp_set_servers one
  • Fixed mcp_toggle disable also removing the tools of a sibling MCP server whose name extends the disabled one's (disabling foo dropped foo__bar's tools)
  • Changed mcp_set_servers to also list a server whose connection attempt throws under added (with a failed row in mcp_status), not only under errors
  • Changed Agent tool calls to emit the periodic tool_progress heartbeat (heartbeat: true) like other long tools; heartbeat frames never clear a subagent_retry indicator
  • Fixed the browser SDK bundle (@anthropic-ai/claude-agent-sdk/browser) never streaming any messages on engines without native Symbol.dispose (Safari/iOS, Firefox ESR, older Chromium)
  • Fixed a background Bash task that is still running when a stream-json session ends right after an interrupt (stdin closed) never receiving its final task_notification
  • Fixed -p giving up on a long-running background subagent without actually stopping it, so background_tasks_changed kept listing it and events for it arrived after its stopped notification
  • Added detail option to Query.getContextUsage(): 'summary' answers from the last response's usage and local estimates without per-category token-count API calls (default 'full')

  • Updated dependencies [5190b67]
    • @ai-sdk/provider@4.0.10

7.0.91

Patch Changes

  • 802af1e: Add configurable recovery for provider errors received after streamText response streaming begins. Explicitly configuring streamRetries enables isolated retry attempts, including one bounded callback-directed recovery through StreamTextOnErrorRetryCallback with streamRetries: 0; recovered results and metadata reflect only the successful attempt, while the existing StreamTextOnErrorCallback contract and logging-only observer behavior remain compatible.

Escalated for human review — 17-package minor-patch group. Head SHA: 42055db8576990fe7ac8074d082faa7a6d8a3319

Validation is clean; the reason for escalation is semver classification, not a failure.

Validation performed (clean worktree of this head):

  • npm ci exit 0, no tracked files modified (git diff --exit-code on the root and all workspace manifests is clean — the group correctly updates the root package-lock.json alongside the four workspace package.json files).
  • npm run build exit 0.
  • npm run check exit 1, with 4 failing tests — all four fail identically on unmodified dev (f2a730b) and are artifacts of this runner executing as uid 0, where permission-denial tests cannot produce EPERM/EACCES. They are not attributable to this update. CI's own test and sdk-exports-validation jobs are SUCCESS on this head.
  • npm audit --package-lock-only totals are identical to dev (1 low / 4 moderate / 5 high) — this group neither introduces nor clears an advisory.

Why this is not being auto-merged: the group is titled minor-patch, but three members are 0.x minor bumps, which are breaking under semver:

Package From To
@opentelemetry/exporter-metrics-otlp-grpc 0.221.0 0.222.0
@opentelemetry/exporter-trace-otlp-grpc 0.221.0 0.222.0
@opentelemetry/sdk-node 0.221.0 0.222.0

All three are direct dependencies of packages/squad-sdk and are consumed in packages/squad-sdk/src/runtime/otel.ts and src/runtime/otel-api.ts, so a breaking change in the OTel SDK surface would land in first-party runtime code rather than in a transitive dependency.

The specific uncertainty for a human: whether anything in the OTel JS 0.222.0 line changes the exporter or NodeSDK construction/configuration APIs used in those two files. A green test run does not settle this — the group's remaining 14 members are genuine minor/patch updates and would mask a narrow telemetry regression that this repository's tests may not exercise.
