Change(s):

  • Add three XDR workbooks alongside their existing Sentinel parents:
    • XDR Workbooks/MicrosoftDefenderForEndPoint.json
    • XDR Workbooks/MicrosoftDefenderForIdentity.json
    • XDR Workbooks/MicrosoftDefenderForOffice365detectionsandinsights.json
  • Preserve the existing solution content and packaging selections: 40 analytic rules, 387 hunting queries, three Sentinel workbooks and one data connector.
  • Update solution packaging selections and version metadata, regenerate the ARM template, UI definition and test parameters, and add Package/3.2.1.zip.
  • Preserve existing Sentinel workbook serialization through string serializedData; package XDR workbook content as Notebook objects under the preview Defender workbook resource contract.
  • No existing source-content deletions, migrated XDR detections, toolkit changes or migration logs are included.

Reason for Change(s):

Version Updated:

  • Solution/package version: 3.2.1.
  • Existing Sentinel content versions are preserved.
  • No detection or analytic-rule source templates are changed.

Testing Completed:

  • Offline conversion and explicit query/dependency review completed for all three XDR workbooks: 285 business queries converted and five workspace scope helpers removed.
  • Scoped package inspection confirmed that all original packaging selections and generated resource type/name identities remain present.
  • Confirmed three XDR workbook registration/installation pairs and that ZIP template JSON matches the adjacent generated files.
  • XDR workbook deployment defaults to off (DeployDefenderWorkbook=false).
  • No cloud deployment, live query execution, workbook UI qualification, installation/readback or repeat-update qualification was performed.

Checked that the validations are passing and have addressed any issues that are present:

  • No — this is an unqualified review candidate, not an accepted release.
  • The full official validation suite was not rerun for the corrected additive package.
  • The packaging backend generated the artifacts, but its automatic ARM-TTK step failed while extracting nested templates and subsequently reported an empty TemplateText argument.
  • Preview-provider authentication/write support and independent workbook installation/readback/update evidence remain unverified.
  • Reproducible regeneration currently depends on the separately submitted toolkit fixes linked above.

Include three XDR workbooks and their connector prerequisite; preserve existing repository content. Candidate validation and installation remain incomplete.

Use the exact offer tracking ID supplied by the owner in SolutionMetadata.json. Regenerate the additive 3.2.1 candidate with V3.1. The sole semantic ARM change is the empty unconditional root attribution deployment; existing content remains unchanged.

Automatic ARM-TTK still fails inner-template extraction. This is not full validation or Partner Center acceptance.
