Energy Engineer · Renewable Energy · Grid Integration · Thermal Systems · Python & MATLAB

Energy engineer with a Master's degree from Aix-Marseille University, with experience across renewable-energy integration, energy efficiency, industrial electrical systems, thermal engineering and EV charging infrastructure.

I use MATLAB, Python and engineering simulation tools for physical modelling, energy-data analysis and engineering studies. My main interests include photovoltaic systems, renewable-energy integration, reactive-power compensation, thermal systems and energy optimisation.

Featured engineering projects

MATLAB study of the interaction between a 33 kV capacitor bank, network impedance and existing harmonics in a PV-connected industrial grid.

  • Frequency-domain model of a 150 / 60 / 33 kV industrial network.
  • Comparison of OFF, BARE and DETUNED reactive-power compensation.
  • Harmonic analysis at the 5th, 7th, 11th and 13th orders.
  • Resonance scan, THDv / THDi, active/reactive power and power-factor analysis.
  • Comparison of normal, moderate and high harmonic-excitation scenarios.
  • Engineering checks for KCL, active-power balance and FFT reconstruction.

The project is a theoretical sensitivity study using representative assumptions rather than measured site harmonic spectra.

One-hour-ahead forecasting of Spanish electricity demand using Python and LSTM, comparing historical load, calendar and observed-weather inputs.

  • 168-hour history with chronological train / validation / test splitting.
  • Best tested LSTM: MAE 375.39 MW · RMSE 567.41 MW · MAPE 1.30%.
  • Comparison with persistence and TSO benchmarks.
  • Hourly, monthly and seasonal error analysis.
  • Evaluation of load-only, calendar and weather-enhanced models.

Academic project completed with Aymen EZZAHRI.

Python numerical model of transient heat conduction through a wall with a localised hot region.

  • Explicit finite-difference solution in three dimensions.
  • Stability-condition verification.
  • Analytical and numerical benchmark comparisons.
  • Grid-refinement study.
  • Temperature slices, 3D visualisation and centreline profiles.

The model focuses on solid conduction; convection, radiation and multilayer materials are possible extensions.

Engineering background

My experience includes:

OCP — PV integration into an industrial electrical network, PVsyst modelling, energy-data analysis, P/Q and cos φ analysis, reactive-power compensation, BESS studies and MATLAB harmonic/resonance modelling.

Métropole Aix-Marseille-Provence — fast EV-charging infrastructure, associated photovoltaic generation, electrical integration and preliminary engineering design.

Capclim Énergie — energy efficiency, thermal systems and HVAC.

ONEE — solar-thermal systems and energy engineering.

This background combines renewable-energy systems, electrical and thermal engineering, engineering design and numerical analysis.
