The pip updates (for example #232 and #233) changed
requirements/preparation.inorpyproject.tomlbut notrequirements/preparation.lock, the hash lock CI installs. So they could never be merged as they were. The lock is evidence for the published run and is updated by hand, as the file's own comment already said.
