I'm going to work through a scoring project just to test this out and give recommendations. The first thing that I notice is that the video player lacks independent controls for playback or seeking. One capability that is nice is the ability to play the video independently of the music and seek through the video without the score playing back. Perhaps there could be:
- a seek-able timeline
- play/pause
- an independent playback toggle or button that allows the video to play alone.
Obviously, the score can act as the timeline and the MuseScore audio can be muted, but for the purpose of spotting sections quickly and even establishing the initial offset location, independent playback and seeking would be very useful.
Of all the attempts to incorporate video in MuseScore, (the old Jack Sync PR, the VLC plugin that I host, the Reaper sync plugin, and a few PR projects that are hung up on incorporating QtMultimedia)... yours is by far the cleanest and most direct solution. Bravo! I love it!
