What's Nu? Newsletter

What's the newsletter about?

The "What's Nu?" Newsletter serves as a comprehensive record of significant events and accomplishments within the Math & Computer Science Department over the past year.
This newsletter is distributed to alumni, providing them with updates and highlights from the department.
Additionally, it is shared with prospective students to give them an insight into the department's activities, achievements, and overall environment, fostering a sense of connection and community.

Brief History

The "What's Nu?" Newsletter was established by Dr. Fred Portier in 2005.
Since its inception, the newsletter has featured a wide array of articles that highlight the department's growth, milestones, and ongoing initiatives.
Notably, each edition includes a special article written by an alum, reflecting on their experiences since graduation and sharing updates on their professional journeys.
Over the years, the newsletter has also documented the department's history, making it a valuable resource for both alumni and current students alike.

Operations

The creation of the newsletter is a collaborative process. Faculty members and students write articles that provide valuable insights into the activities of the department throughout the year.
Additionally, various forms of media, such as photographs, are gathered and sent to Dr. Heinold.
Once all materials are collected, Dr. Heinold compiles and organizes them into the final newsletter, ensuring the content is cohesive, informative, and engaging for the audience.

Have Ideas For Articles or The Newsletter?

Articles are written by students and faculty members.

These articles can be submitted to Dr. Heinold, who is the editor of the newsletter.
