The purpose of SOCS is to create a supportive network for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) students in STEM fields.

Any student can join by attending events and getting involved. To become a voting member, you need to attend at least three events per semester.

What happens at an event related to the club?

Events vary! “Take Your SOCS Off” events are safe spaces where BIPOC students and allies can talk about struggles and find community. There are also cultural events like potlucks, professional development workshops, and volunteer activities such as science demos for local kids.
