From d3040b8aac3f5b797aded0ccce7e436bfadfb038 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Kyle Sexton <153232337+kyle-sexton@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Tue, 27 Oct 2026 20:01:09 -0400 Subject: [PATCH 1/2] ci(intake): run refine-issue on run-claude-cli with the INTAKE key first refine-issue in intake-triage.yml moves from anthropics/claude-code-action to ci-workflows' run-claude-cli (v0.65.15 pin), as the intake role. The refine-issue job runs on INTAKE_CLAUDE_API_KEY alone; when its key leg hands off (a credit stop, or a 401 or 402) or the key is empty, the new refine-issue-subscription job runs the same steps on a fresh VM on INTAKE_CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN alone. apply-refinement reads whichever leg uploaded the refinement. Both legs keep contents: read, dontAsk, the same prompt and schema, Read on the context directory plus Read, Grep and Glob in the checkout, and WebFetch on the same six docs hosts; every other tool is denied. The context moves under the workspace because --restricted confines the file tools to the working directory. The structured output is kept only after check-permission-mode.sh confirms the leg ran in dontAsk. lane-funding.json and callers.test.mjs follow. Read CONTEXT_FILE. Then explore the repository checkout at REPO_DIR with Read, Grep and Glob: + find the files the issue concerns and what they say now, citing `path:line`. + 2. Compare the candidates: an issue asking the same thing is a `duplicate`; a merged pull + request, or an issue closed as completed, that already did the work is `fixed-by`; anything + else that bears on it is `related`. Cite a candidate only by its number. + 3. When the issue depends on a documented behavior, read the page with WebFetch on DOMAINS only. + List each page and file you read in `sources` as `: what it says`. + 4. When `split` is null: set `exact` true only when the intended outcome is stated or follows unambiguously from the + issue and the code, you can write each acceptance criterion as one an unattended run can + check (a file says X, a test passes, a command prints Y), no decision the owner must make is + open, and no candidate is a `duplicate` or `fixed-by`. Then fill `outcome` (one sentence), + `criteria` (at most 12) and `dependencies` (issues or work it waits on, with why), and leave + `questions` and `split` empty. + 5. Otherwise set `exact` false and ask each open question (at most 5) with `recommended`, your + answer, and `basis`, the `path:line`, candidate number or URL behind it, or `judgment`. + Never treat a recommendation as decided. Fill `outcome` with the most likely outcome or + leave it empty, and leave `criteria` empty. Leave `split` empty. + 6. When `split` is not null, the issue is exact but admission held it because its done-when + items `split.items` (each with its 1-based number `n` among the `split.count` task-list + items, why a lane run cannot perform it, and its text) need a person. Set `exact` true only + when the other items still make a whole change an unattended run can finish and check on + its own, no decision the owner must make is open, and no candidate is a `duplicate` or + `fixed-by`. Then set `split` to exactly the numbers in `split.items`, `outcome` to one + sentence of what the issue delivers without them, and leave `criteria` and `questions` + empty: a script lists those items in the refinement comment as checks a person runs and + keeps the rest here. + Otherwise follow step 5. + Each string is one line of plain text. + PROMPT + ) + prompt=${prompt//CONTEXT_FILE/$DATA/context.json} + prompt=${prompt//REPO_DIR/$REPO_DIR} + prompt=${prompt//DOMAINS/${domains// /, }} + schema='{"type":"object","properties":{"exact":{"type":"boolean"},"outcome":{"type":"string"},"criteria":{"type":"array","maxItems":12,"items":{"type":"string"}},"dependencies":{"type":"array","maxItems":10,"items":{"type":"string"}},"related":{"type":"array","maxItems":10,"items":{"type":"object","properties":{"number":{"type":"integer"},"relation":{"enum":["duplicate","fixed-by","related"]},"note":{"type":"string"}},"required":["number","relation","note"],"additionalProperties":false}},"questions":{"type":"array","maxItems":5,"items":{"type":"object","properties":{"question":{"type":"string"},"recommended":{"type":"string"},"basis":{"type":"string"}},"required":["question","recommended","basis"],"additionalProperties":false}},"sources":{"type":"array","maxItems":15,"items":{"type":"string"}},"split":{"type":"array","maxItems":12,"items":{"type":"integer"}}},"required":["exact","outcome","criteria","dependencies","related","questions","sources","split"],"additionalProperties":false}' + # A Size Large issue admission parked (owner Q93): the output is + # numbers only, which refine.mjs checks as a partition. + if [ "$MODE" = size-split ]; then + prompt=$( + cat <<'PROMPT' + You split one Size Large issue into sub-issues, each a change an unattended issue lane can + finish and check in one pull request. It now compares each leg's full step list in order and lets them differ only in the credential check's env and run, the launcher's credential input, the key leg's handoff report (now id: handoff) and the last step's if. A second test mutates the subscription leg (continue-on-error, timeout, env, the managed-settings and isolation order, collect, upload, credential if, context check, a dropped step) and shows each mutation fails the check.
