Github copilot hangs when editing files via ACP

running the agent via ACP make it hangs in file editing see: zed-industries/zed#51317

1. Open a new session via ACP
2. Agent will try to modify some files
3. It will almost always hang idenfenitly

Thanks for reporting this. We identified the root cause: ACP permission requests were not forwarding the correct toolCallId, which prevented ACP clients (like Zed) from correlating permission responses back to the original tool call. This caused the agent to hang indefinitely waiting for a response that could never be matched.

The fix landed in copilot-agent-runtime#5902, which ensures permission handlers correctly pass the toolCallId through to the ACP mapping layer. This is merged into main but has not yet shipped in a stable release -- v1.0.21 (the version you reported) does not include it.

You should see this resolved once the next stable release ships. In the meantime, if you want to try it early, pre-release v1.0.22-0 should include this fix.

Closing as the underlying issue is addressed in the codebase.
