StatLite is a lightweight, self-hosted monitoring dashboard for small applications and servers. Version 0.5.0 adds a read-only API for automation, upgrades known SQLite databases to a new schema while preserving history, and makes the dashboard and startup guidance clearer.
What is new in 0.5.0
External API v1 for automation
Scripts can now query one configured target through three versioned endpoints:
GET /api/v1/statusreports collection state and the latest available application and dependency health.GET /api/v1/eventsreturns recent collector warnings and errors, with bounded range and result-limit options.GET /api/v1/metricsreturns a fixed, rolling one-hour view of request, error, latency, and resource metrics. The API is read-only. It does not poll targets or send alerts; your automation decides thresholds and notifications. Keep StatLite bound to loopback or behind trusted access, since it has no built-in API authentication. See the API reference and runnable automation examples.
SQLite history preserved through schema upgrades
StatLite migrates known version 1 databases to schema version 2 while keeping existing history. New observations record target identity, application-run provenance, and the effective poll source. Historical rows retain their original data, with unknown provenance left unset. See the storage guide.
Clearer dashboard and startup behavior
Status cards and charts now present application, collection, database, and host-resource information more clearly. This release also restores missing database-health presentation and gives more useful errors for invalid startup configuration.
Try it
Run the exact release container:
Then open http://127.0.0.1:9090. StatLite monitors itself by default, so the dashboard starts with local data.
Or install or update through Homebrew:
brew update brew install pvrlabs/tap/statlite # If already installed: brew upgrade pvrlabs/tap/statliteThe installation guide also covers the checksum-verifying installer and source builds.
