Similar to #336, we are still pursuing opportunities to credit folks for their contributions to MDAnalysis.
During a January 2025 business meeting, it was suggested to include the AUTHORS list on the MDAnalysis team page. Ideally this would be written in a way that the author names are pulled automatically.
One thing to note is that this would mainly capture code-based contributions, and we would still need to use other mechanisms to acknowledge non-code-based contributions.
