Securing Data Privacy with AI Assistants

AI assistants like ChatGPT and Copilot are transforming the way we work, but their widespread use raises critical questions about data privacy. While free services often require users to share their data, paid providers promise confidentiality. But can you really trust them with your company’s most sensitive information? In environments where data security is non-negotiable, is it possible to leverage these powerful tools without compromising privacy?

In this talk, I’ll share practical insights from working in a company with strict privacy requirements. I’ll demonstrate how tools like AI coding assistants, Open WebUI, and Open Notebook can be deployed in a fully private, local environment without sending data to external providers. By the end of the session, you’ll understand both the risks of third‑party AI services and the steps to set up a secure AI workspace of your own.

Gave this talk at the internal developer conference of ICT Group at 16-06-2026 (ICT Tech Summit). Got positive feedback afterwards ;-)
