Mobile instant messaging still sucks, so I (kinda) switched to Signal

If you know me and have read past articles on this Blog, you may know well that I really hate how the mobile IM services market is underwhelming at best and dangerous at worst. The issue of WhatsApp being the main Instant Messaging app for mobile devices in many countries (including Italy) still remains, and I also haven't found a way to completely quit and delete my account for good. But even the competition hasn't been quite good in the last years, and when it comes to the criterias I used to and still want in a mobile IM service none of the alternatives have ever been good enough.

I'm finally back after "I don't now how much time", things have been pretty rough lately especially on the "school" side and I know this is a very underwhelming post to do after so long but I really wanted to share my frustrations with Last.fm, the platform I use (or, I guess now used) for scrobbling from my Navidrome server.

I really hate WhatsApp, so I've started searching for alternatives and one of them was Telegram. But even if it's better than WhatsApp, it still has its huge problems.

I have an old LG Blu-ray Player laying around, it's the BP450 model and it supports some streaming apps, but it's limited to Netflix and YouTube and there's no App Store, so can I mod it to load third party stuff?

As some of you might know, I'm a Material 3/Material You fan; so, obviously, I'm interested in apps that use it and I might end up using them daily, so this month I'm starting an occasional format on which I will list some of my favorite Material Design 3 apps.

ONIMAI: it's not that bad as you might think

I've lately began to get into CGDCT animes in the last weeks and the fault is mainly K-ON's. At the end I decided to begin with "ONIMAI: I'm Now Your Sister", based on the Nekotofu's manga of the same name, because a video that I saw inspired me to watch it. Read the full article to learn more about my watching pleasure.

RCS deserves more attention

In the last post I described how WhatsApp is bad and suggested to use RCS instead. And while it is true that RCS is really cool, it has many problems and a lot of them exist just because we don't consider it enough in the modern days of instant messaging apps.
