🌟 Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of:

  • Age, body size, visible or invisible disability
  • Ethnicity, nationality, race, or skin color
  • Gender identity and expression
  • Level of experience, education, or socio-economic status
  • Personal appearance, religion, or political affiliation
  • Sexual identity and orientation
  • Mental health status or neurodiversity

We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.

Community Building:

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  • Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
  • Focusing on what is best for the community
  • Showing empathy and kindness towards other community members

Professional Conduct:

  • Providing constructive and helpful feedback
  • Acknowledging and learning from mistakes
  • Taking responsibility for our actions and their impact
  • Being patient with newcomers and first-time contributors
  • Sharing knowledge and helping others learn

Mental Health Awareness:

  • Being sensitive to mental health discussions and experiences
  • Avoiding stigmatizing language around mental health
  • Respecting privacy and personal boundaries
  • Supporting those who share their experiences
  • Promoting mental wellness and self-care

❌ Unacceptable Behavior

Harassment and Discrimination:

  • The use of sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or advances
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment, stalking, or unwanted contact
  • Deliberate intimidation, threats, or incitement of violence
  • Discriminatory jokes, slurs, or language

Unprofessional Conduct:

  • Publishing others' private information without explicit permission
  • Doxxing or sharing personal information
  • Spamming, flooding, or deliberately derailing conversations
  • Plagiarism or claiming others' work as your own
  • Persistent disruption of discussions or events

Mental Health Specific:

  • Minimizing, dismissing, or mocking mental health experiences
  • Providing unsolicited medical or therapeutic advice
  • Sharing graphic content related to self-harm or suicide without warnings
  • Using mental health terms as insults or casual expressions
  • Pressuring individuals to share personal mental health information

Our Standards

Examples of positive behavior:

  • Using inclusive, respectful language
  • Being constructive and kind in feedback
  • Accepting disagreement gracefully
  • Focusing on the project’s goals
  • Showing empathy and patience

Unacceptable behavior includes:

  • Harassment, insults, or derogatory statements
  • Personal attacks or shaming
  • Discrimination or exclusionary remarks
  • Bullying or intimidation
  • Any other behavior that could be considered unprofessional or harmful

🛡️ Enforcement Responsibilities

Community leaders and maintainers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior. They will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

Community leaders have the right and responsibility to:

  • Remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions
  • Temporarily or permanently ban any contributor for behaviors they deem inappropriate
  • Communicate reasons for enforcement decisions when appropriate

📍 Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces, including but not limited to:

Online Spaces:

  • GitHub repository (issues, pull requests, discussions, wiki)
  • Project communication channels (Discord, Slack, etc.)
  • Social media accounts and posts related to the project
  • Video calls, webinars, or virtual events
  • Email communications related to the project

Offline Spaces:

  • Conferences, meetups, or hackathons where the project is represented
  • Any event where community members represent the project

This Code of Conduct also applies when an individual is officially representing the community in public spaces.

🚨 Reporting Guidelines

How to Report

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it using one of these methods:

  1. GitHub Issues: Create a private issue and tag maintainers
  2. Email: Send a confidential report to [maintainer email - abhishekkumargiri770@gmail.com]
  3. Direct Message: Contact any maintainer directly

What to Include

When reporting, please include:

  • Description of the incident
  • Where and when it occurred
  • Any screenshots or evidence (if safe to collect)
  • Impact on you or others
  • Any previous related incidents

Confidentiality

All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality. We will not share reporter information without explicit consent, except where required by law.

⚖️ Enforcement Guidelines

Community leaders will follow these Community Impact Guidelines in determining consequences:

1. 🔔 Correction

Community Impact: Use of inappropriate language or other behavior deemed unprofessional.

Consequence: A private, written warning with clarity around the violation and explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate. A public apology may be requested.

2. ⚠️ Warning

Community Impact: A violation through a single incident or series of actions.

Consequence: A warning with consequences for continued behavior. No interaction with the people involved for a specified period. This includes unsolicited interaction in community spaces and external channels.

3. 🚫 Temporary Ban

Community Impact: A serious violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior.

Consequence: A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community for a specified period. No public or private interaction with the people involved is allowed during this period.

4. 🚷 Permanent Ban

Community Impact: Demonstrating a pattern of violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment, or aggression toward individuals or classes of individuals.

Consequence: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.

🌱 Building a Positive Community

For Contributors

  • Be welcoming: Help newcomers feel welcome and supported
  • Be patient: Remember everyone has different experience levels
  • Be respectful: Treat all community members with dignity
  • Be constructive: Provide helpful feedback and suggestions
  • Be mindful: Consider the impact of your words and actions

For Maintainers

  • Lead by example: Demonstrate the behavior you want to see
  • Be responsive: Address issues and concerns promptly
  • Be fair: Apply rules consistently and transparently
  • Be supportive: Help contributors succeed and grow
  • Be empathetic: Consider the mental health impact of your decisions

For Mental Health Discussions

Given our project's focus on mental health:

  • Use content warnings for sensitive topics
  • Respect personal boundaries and privacy
  • Avoid giving medical advice unless qualified
  • Support without trying to "fix" someone
  • Remember that mental health affects everyone differently
